One of the biggest regrets is not having enough time to truly enjoy your vacation. With 5 days, this is how I would plan it... Make it yours:
Day 1: Check-in and check everything out
With a 3pm check-in time, you have enough time to get acquainted with The Cabins, unpack, then head down to the river. You'll want to get a 'lay of the land' to know what to expect - might as well throw on your swimsuit and pack watershoes - the river may be calling! Check out Roy's Rentals across the street/river for details on toobin'!
Day 2: Go Toobin'
Trips can be planned for as little as a couple of hours or an all day trip. For $17/pp, Roy's will take you up river and drop you off depending on your timing, plus give you extra tubes for your cooler and speaker. You will float back down to Roy's with little or no driving - which is ideal after a day on the river! Plan on staying in and grilling (do as much prep beforehand).
Day 3: Sightseeing
We are minutes to the town of Gruene or downtown New Braunfels. Gruene Hall is a bucket list and photo-op destination. If interested in venturing a little further out, Wimberly is great for shopping and wineries, or San Marcos has their famous outlet malls. San Antonio or Austin are within 40 miles, each has much to offer: culture, big city shopping, fabulous restaurants and so much more.
Day 4: Take it easy and take it in
Drive out thru River Road to get to The Float House for the best burger (off or on the river). After a heavy burger and a nap, pull out some of our outdoor games: cornhole, washers, Ladder-Ball, Spike-Ball, giant Jenga, or oversized dominoes. Dinnertime might be a great time to experiment with our pizza oven and plan on a poker/game night.
Day 5: Chillaxin'
Pack a basket of sandwiches and ice cold drinks and head back to the river. Borrow some of our beach chairs or a float and plan on a great day of people watching & chillaxin' - this is the best way to spend time on the river.
