A beautiful one-hour drive from Camp Milagro, Boerne is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Boerne (pronounced "Bur-nee"), is a Texas Hill Country town, and also known as another German-Texan city. This town checks all the boxes for everyone - romantic settings for couples, fun for groups, and family friendly.
It may be hard to fit all Boerne has to offer into one day... but here are some highlights:
Shopping - so much shopping, so little time. This town is packed with quaint boutiques, antique stores, home decor... hit the 'Hill Country Mile' for a range of shops that will meet everyone's checklist.
Drinking - There are several winery companies that can be found just outside Boerne and great way to try some local wines. Boerne also offers up a couple of great breweries offering their own ice cold, craft beers - a must try on a hot day!
Nature - The Cibolo Nature Center is beautiful - with the Cibolo Creek, Cypress trees and nature trails. Area caverns and caves are a wonder to behold. Boerne Lake has a range of outdoor activities, including beaches, sailing, kayaking and more.
Food, Food, Food - did I say food? There are some top-notch choices for great food, whether it's a burger and a beer or an upscale feast - you will NOT be disappointed. Did I say Boerne has great food? If not, once again, Boerne Has Great Food! I was extremely impressed.
If visiting on a Saturday, the Farmers Market is a MUST-DO! The Herff Farm offers up local foods, crafts, wares. A great way to support Boerne businesses, and a day you won't regret.
